On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 1067, a bill to make revisions in title 36, United States Code, as necessary to keep the title current and make technical corrections and improvements, under a suspension of the rules. The bill was introduced on March 12, 2013 by Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, which reported the bill by voice vote.
H.R. 1067 updates and makes technical corrections to title 36 of the United States Code, the title dealing with patriotic and national observances, ceremonies, and organizations.
As part of its statutory responsibilities, the Office of Law Revision Counsel, periodically submits to the Committee on the Judiciary its proposals to maintain the titles of the US Code and keep them current. H.R. 1067 was prepared by the Office of the Law Revision Counsel as an update to title 36 to reflect changes in the law and to make technical corrections.
CBO estimates that because H.R. 1068 would make no substantive changes to the law, the bill would have “no significant impact on the federal budget.”
