On Monday, December 12, 2011, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 3246, under a suspension of the rules requiring a two-thirds majority vote for passage.  H.R. 3246 was introduced by Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) on October 24, 2011, and referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

This legislation would designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 15455 Manchester Road in Ballwin, Missouri, as the "Specialist Peter J. Navarro Post Office Building.”

Specialist Navarro was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, out of Fort Riley, KS.  He was killed on December 13, 2005, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee while conducting combat operations in Taji, Iraq.

According to CBO, any costs related to new post office designations, which include the cost of changing the name on the building, signs, and maps, are not significant.
