On Monday, December 12, 2011, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 3220, under a suspension of the rules requiring a two-thirds majority vote for passage. H.R. 3220 was introduced by Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-MN) on October 14, 2011, and referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
This legislation would designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 170 Evergreen Square SW in Pine City, Minnesota, as the "Master Sergeant Daniel L. Fedder Post Office.”
Master Sgt. Daniel L. Fedder, 34, died on August 27, 2010, while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Master Sgt. Fedder was assigned to the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, in Camp Pendleton, CA.
According to CBO, any costs related to new post office designations, which include the cost of changing the name on the building, signs, and maps, are not significant.
