S. 3774 is expected to be considered on the House floor on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, under a suspension of the rules, requiring a two-thirds majority vote for passage.  This legislation was introduced by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) on September 14, 2010. 

S. 3774 would extend the deadline for using certain grant money for disasters, such as Hurricanes Ike and Dolly, which occurred in 2008. 

The bill would provide an extension for the expenditure of the remaining funds through September 30, 2011.  The initial funding of $600 million was provided in the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act of 2009.
