S. 2950 is being considered under suspension of the rules, requiring a two-thirds vote for passage. The legislation was introduced by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) on January 25, 2010.

S. 2950 amends the PROTECT Act to extend by 14 months the Child Safety Pilot Program (allowing certain volunteer organizations to obtain national and state criminal history background checks on their volunteers).
