H.Res. 969 is expected to be considered on the floor of the House on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, under a motion to suspend the rules, requiring a two-thirds vote for passage. The legislation was introduced by Rep. Dale Kildee (D-MI) December 114, 2009.
H.Res. 969 would resolve that the House of Representatives congratulates Flint native and running back Mark Ingram on winning the 2009 Heisman Trophy and honoring both his athletic and academic achievements.
According to the resolution's findings, in 2009, Mark Ingram broke the University of Alabama single-season rushing record with 1,542 yards, was named the SEC offensive player of the year, scored 18 total touchdowns and finished the season with 322 receiving yards. He also won the Heisman award.
