According to the resolution’s findings, on September 24, 2005, Hurricane Rita made landfall just east of the Texas-Louisiana border, between Sabine Pass and Johnson's Bayou, as a Category 3 hurricane with wind speeds of 120 mph and further devastated the Gulf Coast.
