• "Expresses profound sorrow at his passing on May 4, 2010; and
• "Expresses sincere condolences to his wife Lulu, and the rest of his family, friends, colleagues, and admirers."

According to the resolution's findings, for 55 years, Ernie Harwell endeared Americans in his broadcast of over 8,400 baseball games.
