H.Con.Res. 258 is expected to be considered on the floor of the House on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, under a motion to suspend the rules, requiring a two-thirds vote for passage. The legislation was introduced by Rep. Joe Courtney (D-CT) on March 25, 2010.

H.Con.Res. 258 would resolve that the House of Representatives:

  • “Congratulates the Commandant of the Coast Guard and the Superintendent of the Coast Guard Academy and its staff for 100 years of operation of the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut;
  • “Honors the many men and women who have graduated from the Coast Guard Academy and served on behalf of our Nation over the last 100 years;
  • “Encourages all Americans to learn more about the Coast Guard Academy, its mission, and its long history of training the men and women of the Coast Guard.”
