H.Res. 350 is being considered under suspension of the rules, requiring a two-thirds vote for passage. The legislation was introduced by Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA) March 21, 2009.

H.Res. 350 would resolve that the House of Representatives "honors the life and accomplishments of Harry Kalas for his invaluable contributions to the national past-time of baseball, the community, and the Nation."

Harry Norbert Kalas was an American sportscaster, best known for his Frick Award-winning role as lead play-by-play announcer for Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies. Kalas was also closely identified with the National Football League, serving as a voice-over narrator for NFL Films productions and calling games nationally for Westwood One radio.
