H.Res. 215

H.Res. 215 is expected to be considered on the floor of the House on Monday, September 15, 2009, under a motion to suspend the rules, requiring a two-thirds vote for passage. The resolution was introduced by Rep. Michael Honda (D-NY) on March 5, 2009.

H.Res. 215 would resolve that the House of Representatives:
• "Congratulates the Minority Business Development Agency on its 40th anniversary;
• "Commends the Minority Business Development Agency for its achievements in fostering the establishment and growth of minority businesses; and
• "Encourages the Minority Business Development Agency to continue its efforts to assist minority businesses as such enterprises continue to strengthen communities, create jobs, and contribute to the health of the economy in the United States."

According to the resolution's findings, since 1969, the Minority Business Development Agency has served more than 625 thousand minority businesses and assisted in securing more than $25 billion in loans and bonding.
