H. Res. 112 is expected to be considered on the floor of the House under a motion to suspend the rules, requiring a two-thirds majority vote for passage.  This resolution was introduced by Representative Christopher Lee (R-NY) on February 3, 2009.

H. Res. 112 resolves that the House of Representatives supports the goals and ideals of American Heart Month and National Wear Red Day.

Congress approved, by way of joint resolution on December 30, 1963, that the President issue an annual proclamation designating February as "American Heart Month."  To recognize Heart Month, and the diseases associated with the heart, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, and other organizations celebrate "National Wear Red Day" during the month of February.
