H.R. 1271 designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 2351 West Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach, Florida, as the "Elijah Pat Larkins Post Office Building."

 

 

Elijah Pat Larkins served as Pompano Beach's first African American mayor and died on February 14, 2009, of cancer.  Throughout his over 25 years of public service, he made contributions to the civil rights movement and is being recognized for his service to Floridians during his time as Mayor.
