The future of America relies on the opportunities available for our children. Quality K-12 education and higher-education should be available for all citizens, regardless of economic status or zip code. This week House Republicans witnessed the opportunity education provides to build a better future around the country.

Daniel Webster charter school
UCP’s Charter School status allows teachers and therapists to provide individualized education and therapy to their special needs students.  Rep. Daniel Webster (FL-10) visited UCP’s West Orange School students and teachers to see how charter schools put educational choices back into the hands of parents, teachers, and local officials.

Since 1966, the Lilie Rice Center has served Walla Walla, WA community by offering purpose, dignity, and job opportunities for people with disabilities. Tipton
Rep. Scott Tipton (CO-03) visited his alma mater to discuss the importance of entrepreneurship with Fort Lewis College students. House Republicans are working to increase transparency to lower costs in higher education. Tipton, a first-generation college student, offered words of encouragement, “You’re going to be the members of Congress, you’re going to be the entrepreneurs.”

Ellmers-charter school
The Academy of Moore County is a tuition-free, public charter school that offers area students an alternative to public schools. Rep. Renee Ellmers (NC-02) visited the students and teachers this week to witness the positive impact charter schools have on children. House Republicans have passed the Student Success Act to help expand choices for parents so that students everywhere have greater access to high quality schools.
